BOQ (Bill of Quantities) for Construction, Contracting & Engineering Projects | Odoo BOQ (Bill of Quantities) for Construction, Contracting & Engineering Projects
Project BOQ with Revision and Cost Control Odoo App
The Project BOQ Construction Contracting module enables efficient management of Bills of Quantity (BOQs) for construction projects in Odoo. It allows users to create BOQs with categorized lines for materials, labour, and overheads, generate PDF reports for customers, and convert BOQs into Job Cost Sheets for budgeting and execution.
Main Features of the Project BOQ Construction Contracting Module
- BOQ (Bill of Quantity) Management
- Create Bills of Quantity (BOQs) with categorized lines for Material, Labour, and Overhead, providing a clear breakdown of project costs. Each BOQ can be linked directly to a specific project and customer, ensuring accurate tracking and alignment with project requirements.
- BOQ Revision Management
- Create and manage revisions with auto generated revision numbers (e.g., BOQ/0001 REV1).
- Track revision history using previous and next smart buttons.
- BOQ Locking/Unlocking
- Locking a BOQ will prevent any further modifications, ensuring the approved version remains unchanged. The Unlock option allows authorized users to make controlled edits or create a revision when updates are necessary.
- Job Cost Sheet Integration
- Convert BOQs into Job Cost Sheets with matching Material, Labour, and Overhead lines.
- Maintain traceability between BOQs and Job Cost Sheets.
- Send BOQ to Customer with PDF Report
- The Send BOQ button enables you to send the BOQ to the customer along with a professionally generated PDF report directly from the system.
- Smart Button Navigation
- The module includes smart buttons for easy and quick navigation between related records. A BOQ smart button is available on the Project, Customer (Partner), and Job Cost Sheet forms, allowing users to access associated BOQs effortlessly. Similarly, the Job Cost Sheet form features a smart button to quickly navigate back to the linked BOQ, enhancing usability and workflow efficiency.
- A BOQ (Bill of Quantities) is a pre-project estimation tool, while a Job Costing Sheet is used during and after project execution to track actual expenses.
- BOQ is prepared before the project starts, typically during the tendering or budgeting phase. It includes estimated quantities and rates for materials, labor, and services required for the project.
- Job Costing Sheet, on the other hand, is maintained throughout the execution of the project. It records actual costs incurred, including labor hours, material usage, equipment, and overheads.
- The BOQ focuses on estimated costs, helping with procurement planning and contractor pricing.
- The Job Costing Sheet focuses on actual costs, helping with cost control, tracking deviations, and analyzing project profitability.
- BOQ is mainly used by quantity surveyors, estimators, and procurement teams.
- Job Costing Sheets are primarily used by project managers, finance teams, and accountants.
